July 2 was Family Night at the Mandan Rodeo. Rodeo spectators enjoyed a free feed and inflatable games for children hosted by Cumulus Broadcasting.
A ranch rodeo was held following the regular rodeo performances. Teams of four cowboys or cowgirls went head-to-head in trailer loading, steer mugging and wild cow milking competitions.
Vendors at the Mandan Rodeo are as follows:

Amanda Payne of Shidler, Okla., will be rounding up anything from horses, to mules, longhorn cattle or buffalo at the Mandan Rodeo in 2011. The One Armed Bandit and Company is a 10-time PRCA specialty act of the year. Amanda joins her father John and brother Lynn in performing across North America.

Justin Rumford brings the party to rodeos with his wild rides, motorcycle jumps, crocodile hunting, gorilla taming, and cheerleading stunts. Justin has been a member of the PRCA since 1999, holding cards in steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, as a bull fighter, pick-up man, announcer…and now barrel man.
Justin is from a long line of PRCA cowboys. His grandpa Floyd Rumford started the Rumford Rodeo Company. Justin’s dad Bronc Rumford carried on the family rodeo company, and was a several time qualifier to the Prairie Circuit Finals in the event of steer wrestling.
Justin started his own rodeo career helping his dad and grandpa with the rodeo company at a very young age. He started bull fighting, riding saddle broncs and steer wrestling in high school. He went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, while being a member of the college rodeo team. He qualified all four years for the National Intercollegiate Finals in both steer wrestling and saddle bronc. He was the PRCA Prairie Circuit All-Around “Rookie of the Year” and has qualified for the Prairie Circuit Finals several times.
He makes his home in Ponca City, Oklahoma, with his wife, Ashley.
