Casey Johnson and Kelly Knoll will serve as ambassadors for the 2011 Mandan Rodeo Days Celebration in their new roles as Miss Rodeo Mandan and Miss Rodeo Mandan Princess. The two were crowned during the Fourth of July professional rodeo in Mandan.
Johnson is the 19-year-old daughter of Daron and Pierette Johnson of Menoken, and Deanne and Duane Jacob of Kintyre. She was the 2003 Miss Rodeo Mandan Princess. Johnson is a 2008 graduate of Mandan High School and former high school rodeo competitor. 
Knoll is the 9-year-old daughter of Pat and Cindy Knoll of Mandan. She will be in the fourth grade at Roosevelt Elementary in Mandan. Knoll competes in events such as barrel racing, pole bending, goat tail tying and keyhole race in the Mandan Horse and Saddle Club and Stark-Morton Rodeo Association.
Johnson won the pageant’s horsemanship, personality and appearance divisions. Nicole Bruse of Horace, N.D. was first runner-up. Katie Heid of Bismarck received the congeniality award as determined by her peers.
In the princess division, Knoll won the personality division based on a personal interview, speech and responses to impromptu questions. Abigail Walock of Baldwin won the horsemanship division and was first runner-up. Hailey Sailer of Hazen won the appearance category and the congeniality award.
Among the many prizes awarded were a queen’s trophy saddle sponsored by Hoffman’s Tack and a princess saddle sponsored by Express Yourself Salon and Spa, plus trophy buckles, crowns and sashes. Johnson also received a $1,000 scholarship from the BSC Foundation.
Johnson and Knoll will be asked to participate in speaking engagements on behalf of the Mandan Rodeo Committee, to assist at regional rodeos and to teach youth about the sport of rodeo and activities offered during Mandan Rodeo Days.
Good luck to Brittany Schock in Miss Rodeo North Dakota Pageant
Brittany Schock will compete as Miss Rodeo Mandan 2010 in the Miss Rodeo North Dakota Pageant to be held in October in Minot in conjunction with the Badlands Circuit Finals PRCA Rodeo.
