Stacy Jangula and Haley Sailer will serve as ambassadors for the 2012 Mandan Rodeo Days Celebration in their new roles as Miss Rodeo Mandan and Miss Rodeo Mandan Princess. The two were crowned during the Fourth of July professional rodeo in Mandan.

Jangula is the 22-year-old daughter of LeeAnn and Dan Jangula of Baldwin. She is a 2007 graduate of Century High School and received an associate’s degree in animal science from Bismarck State College. She attends North Dakota State University majoring in animal science and equine studies.

Sailer is the 11-year-old daughter of Deb and Travis Sailer of Hazen. She will be a sixth grader at Hazen Elementary school. Haley’s interests and hobbies include helping on the farm, sports, rodeo, drawing, sewing, playing piano and flute. Sailer competes in the Mandan Horse and Saddle Club and Stark-Morton Rodeo Association.
Jangula won the pageant’s personality and appearance divisions and was voted the congeniality winner by her peers. Kayla Kessler, Stanton, was first runner-up and winner of the horsemanship division.
In the princess division, Sailer won the personality and horsemanship divisions. Kimberly Bauer of Mandan won the appearance division and first runner-up honors. The congeniality award went to Charlie Bailey, Ft. Yates.
Among the many prizes awarded were a queen’s trophy saddle sponsored by Express Yourself Salon and Spa and a princess saddle sponsored by Western Unlimited, plus trophy buckles, crowns and sashes. Jangula also received a $1,000 scholarship from the BSC Foundation.
Jangula and Sailer will be asked to participate in speaking engagements on behalf of the Mandan Rodeo Committee, to assist at regional rodeos and to teach youth about the sport of rodeo and activities offered during Mandan Rodeo Days.

Contestants sought for 2012 pageant
The Mandan Rodeo Committee is seeking contestants for the Miss Rodeo Mandan queen and princess pageants. The queen and princess serve as ambassadors for Mandan Rodeo Days, the community and the sport of rodeo.
Miss Rodeo Mandan contestants must be residents of the state and between the ages of 17 to 23 as of Dec. 31, 2012, to assure eligibility for the Miss Rodeo North Dakota Pageant in 2013. Princess contestants must be between the ages of 8 and 12 as of July 1 and be from Mandan or within an approximate 125 mile radius.
Contestants in both divisions need to be available July 1 to 4 for participation in pageant competition and rodeo activities. Contestants are judged on horsemanship, speech, personal interview, appearance and modeling.

New royalty will be crowned preceding the July 4 rodeo performance by 2012 Miss Rodeo Mandan Stacy Jangula of Bismarck and Miss Rodeo Mandan Princess Haley Sailer of Hazen. Mandan Rodeo Days is celebrating its 133rd anniversary in 2012.
