World Champion Bareback Rider Bobby Mote aboard 2009 Horse of the WNFR Delta Ship.
Cody DeMoss on Let 'Er Rip, 2009 Runner-Up Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year
The 2010 Mandan Rodeo will feature nationally acclaimed bucking stock of Frontier Rodeo Company. Frontier had 14 head of bareback horses, saddle broncs and bulls selected to buck at the 2009 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo held in December in Las Vegas.
Frontier had the bareback horse of the 2009 WNFR with Delta Ship and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association runner-up saddle bronc horse of the year for 2009 in Let ‘er Rip.
Cowboys won three rounds of the WNFR on Frontier horses. Newly crowned 2009 and three-time PRCA world bareback riding champion Bobbie Mote scored an 88.5 on Delta Ship in round five to tie for first place. Mote came back to win round six on Delta Force with a score of 87.5. JJ Elshere scored 86 points on Griz to win round nine of the saddle bronc.
Other stock owned by Frontier selected for the WNFR in the bareback riding were Badlands Boy, Full Baggage, Joy Ride, and Medicine Woman. In the saddle bronc riding, other Frontier horses performing were Ace of Spades, Little Kitty, Painted Chip and Wild Bill. Frontier bulls at the national finals event were Silencer and Smoke Screen. In total, cowboys earned more than $100,000 for rides on Frontier stock during the WNFR.
Frontier Rodeo Company is based out of Winnie,
Texas, and Freedom, Oklahoma, owned by Jerry Nelson and managed by Heath Stewart, providing livestock to rodeos stretching from Florid to Oregonand many states in between.
Tim Fuller of Claremore, Oklahoma, continues as the voice of the Mandan Rodeo. In 2010, he was selected by In Country TV to serve on its all-star broadcast team for coverage of Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association events including eight Gold rodeos on the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour.
Fuller brings 20 years of professional rodeo announcing experience. His other announcing successes include the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Pocatello, Idaho; the National High School Finals Rodeo, and the Miss Rodeo America Pageant.
Fuller’s path to becoming a rodeo announcer was rocky. He previously worked construction all over the United States. In 1990, he was in Wichita, Kansas, rebuilding a hospital that had been destroyed by a tornado. He was three stories up when he was knocked to the ground, landing on his right leg!
Five surgeries and three years of physical therapy later, Fuller was walking … and talking. A former rodeo competitor in the bareback riding, team roping and steer wrestling, Fuller says, “I was never very good, but I could always talk, so 18 years later...hear I am!”
Fuller still works some construction jobs, plus does voice work and television commercials. He also serves as master of ceremonies for farm and agricultural shows around the country. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and attending junior bullriding events with his wife and son, a two-time national champion at age 14.
Fuller says, “I love the sport of rodeo and am thankful for the opportunity to be involved with a part of our western heritage!”
